What types of TVs cannot be connected to a soundbar or home theater system (or are not recommended for connection)
The recommended way to connect your soundbar/home theater system to the TV is by using only an HDMI cable.
Notes:
- Use a TV that supports eARC/ARC. If the HDMI port on your TV is labeled eARC/ARC, it is compatible.
- While we recommend using only an HDMI cable for the best connection, if your TV does not support eARC/ARC, you can use an optical digital audio cable (sold separately) for audio output.
Note: This method works only if both the soundbar/home theater system and the TV have an optical port.
Therefore, the following TVs cannot be connected, or are not recommended for connection:
- TVs that do not support eARC/ARC and do not have an optical audio output port
- TVs without an HDMI port, which connect only through D-terminal or analog cables (yellow, red, white)
For details about your TV's specifications, refer to the manual for your TV or contact the manufacturer.
