My registered device can't connect to the BRAVIA Connect app

    Before you start

Make sure your smartphone and sound bar/home theater system are connected to the same network.

    • The connection may fail right after turning on the device. Wait a while and then try connecting again.

If the connection fails even though you haven't changed the network settings

If the connection fails even though you haven't changed the network settings on your smartphone or sound bar/home theater system, the network connection may be unstable.

    If the connection keeps failing

If the registered device fails to connect to the BRAVIA Connect app, please check the following settings:

    • In the smartphone Settings menu, set both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to On.
    • In the smartphone Settings menu, allow permission for the BRAVIA Connect app to use location.
    • If you're using an iPhone, follow the steps below to allow access to the BRAVIA Connect app:
      • In the iPhone's Settings menu, select Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
    • Make sure the registered device is turned ON.
If you're using a TV, you can adjust the settings so the TV turns on from the BRAVIA Connect app.
Follow either of these methods based on your model:
      • Settings → Network & Internet → Remote start → On (Powered on by apps)
      • Settings → System → Power & Energy → Energy Modes → Increased
    • Make sure the smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the one used to set up the device.
    • If you don't use the BRAVIA Connect app for a certain period of time, you will be signed out of the app automatically. If this happens, sign in to the app again.
    • If your network setup has changed or the device has been initialized, register the device again in the BRAVIA Connect app.
    • If the registered device is a TV, check if the BRAVIA Connect remote control feature setting is enabled. To check the settings: Go to the Quick Settings menu, then select Settings → Network & Internet → BRAVIA Connect remote control feature.
Note: This setting may not be available depending on your country or region.
    • If the smartphone's Battery Saver or Low Power mode is turned ON, charge the smartphone and turn these settings OFF.
Note: These modes may have different names depending on the smartphone.
    • Restart the app and the smartphone.
    • If the issue is still not resolved, delete the device registration from the BRAVIA Connect app, initialize the device, and then register the device again in the app.
