Moments You Can’t Miss with the Alpha 7R IV
By Kriangkrai Waiyakij
Back when the original mirrorless full-frame camera from Sony was released, the size was significantly smaller compared to regular DSLR cameras. Its size though, never caused me any problems even the first time I used it. It was an issue for photographers who were used to DLSR, but they had to adapt and adjust—like always when there’s new technology in photography.
The steadiest handgrip ever
From the Alpha 7 to the Alpha 7R IV, there have been many fantastic improvements and changes including small details such as shutter button, but the talk of the town other than the 61-megapixel resolution is the new handgrip. This new handgrip is bigger, making it much easier to hold comfortably than previous mirrorless cameras.
Never worry about cropping again
As someone who grew up with an analog camera, I am still familiar with the old ways of photography, taking photos without extra features. So when I started to use digital cameras, I needed to build up my experiences to make it fit for the job.

With our country’s traditions and heritage, there are many times I was honored to be able to record historic events. And in every event, there can’t be any mistakes.

Moments without a second chance being captured at 61-megapixel resolution on the Alpha 7R IV helps me capture perfection. Especially when there’s a need to crop, these great raw files never let me down. Furthermore, 15 stops of dynamic range are wide enough to correct any mistake from error in exposure.

Another thing that fascinates me is the blazingly fast hybrid autofocus system. It has a large number of phase- and contrast- detection points that cover almost all of the image area. It enables you to follow any movements on every occasion, especially when combined with the image stabilization system, which is effective up to 5.5 stops.

My closing thoughts
After having used the Alpha 7R IV for some time, I’ve grown to completely trust in its capability. Technologies in photography are constantly evolving, and so are photographers. But how often is the transition so smooth that it also allows you to take your work to another level like this?

After all, every imaging tool needs to give me joy and confidence. Every time a shutter sound rings, that is a win in doing what I love, followed with dedication and pride in works for my country from what I do best. That’s why a camera is not just a tool but also a companion to success.
